In the area of Austin, Texas art is taken very seriously. There are many fine art exhibits including not only paintings but musical productions and films as well. Artists in Austin are known for taking everyday items and turning them into works of art. The artists are also know for adding texture to painting and transforming photographic into something special.
There are many local artists gaining fame in Austin. One artist to note is Adam Rathlake. He is known for his photography. His black white pictures are breathtaking. Another notable artist is Ana Saha. She is anther artists that works with photography. She also likes to add effects to the pictures to make them new and exciting.
Art and the art scene is part of the nightlife in Austin. There are many play houses to watch free artists perform. There are also many coffee houses where the artists can display their interpretations. The art community also does a lot for charities. There are events where works of art are displayed and even auctioned off. Most of the money goes to a fund to keep Austin beautiful and reduce the pollution and crime rate. Art is an iatrical part of the culture in Austin, Texas.

Among many famous sons and daughters of Austin, Texas who have appeared in various genre of the entertainment and television industry, perhaps none is currently more recognizable than Bob Shieffer, born in 1937. Shieffer served as CBS evening news anchor for many years prior to his recent retirement for health reasons. Shieffer holds the distinction of having served as Chief Correspondent for the White House, the Pentagon and Congress. His last major assignment was as moderator for several of the US Presidential Debate programs.

I always think it is interesting finding out where artists are from, don’t you? I found out that the great and wonderful musician Stevie Ray Vaughn is from Austin, Texas. I think that is so neat finding out, because I just love the City of Austin! Another great blues artist that once called Austin her home is Angela Strehi.
